Here at TMSA, we’re a family owned and run business, established in 1997. We specialise in distributing temperature monitors for various applications in the medical, pharmaceutical, fruit and fishing fields. We pride ourselves on upholding our three core values of integrity, commitment and service excellence. We chatted to Sam Sharkey, our front-runner, about her role in the business and where she sees TMSA going:
How did you get into temperature monitoring?
My father, Ian Donaldson, started the business. I come from a background in the racehorse breeding industry, and when I started looking for a different challenge, joining the family business offered just that. I began working for TMSA in 2005.
Tell us a bit about your MBA Assignment around online technology for use in a B2B digital marketing campaign?
This was a great learning experience where we explored the use of various online tools to grow the business in Eastern and Southern Africa. .
Where do you see TMSA in the next year?
Entering new markets in Africa. I think we’ll shift our focus towards the use of digital technologies in order to achieve this.
What about the industry ignites the most passion in you?
When we make clients happy by adding value to their business operations.
What is the most challenging aspect of your job?
Juggling all of the balls and trying to do everything well, all of the time!
Do you have any temperature monitoring predictions?
The industry is advancing fast, so being involved with manufacturers that are at the top of their game gives me peace of mind.
What do you do for fun?
I live in a beautiful part of the Western Cape, and I spend my free time walking with my dogs or mountain biking. The beauty of our mountains never ceases to amaze me.
Ultimately, we pride ourselves on the close relationship we have with our suppliers and we are committed to offering our clients, both within South Africa and on the African continent, the best products and services.
